Madinaty, located 40 km east of downtown Cairo in a desert area, is a modern fully functional city of international standards whose design focuses on providing all present and future requirements of its inhabitants and visitors.

The project envisions housing for 600,000 residents, in multiple family dwellings and stylish villas, and all the cultural, educational, health, recreation and religious activities set on a vast green area to meet the day-to-day needs of the residents.

Sites International provided detailed landscape design for 1,200 acres of open space in addition to streetscape for certain residential areas. The design intent is to blend with the multiple architectural styles used across the project ranging from the garden city principles of 1930s to the latest urban ideals found in villa neighborhoods, multi family districts, and the town center. The landscape design complements the uniqueness of each community within the new city and enhances the ultimate goal of an oasis-inspired landscape set against the desert background of the project location.
