World Urban Forum 12
Al-Azhar Park won first prize as the best open space in Egypt during the competition held as part of the Twelfth World Urban Forum (UN-Habitat) in Cairo, organized by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Development. The Al-Azhar Park project was presented by Sites International and the Aga Khan Foundation. The award ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Eng. Khaled Seddik, Chairman of the Urban Development Fund, and Eng. Ahmed Rizk, Director of the UN-Habitat Egypt Office, along with Eng. Salma Yousry and Eng. Salma Nassar from UN-Habitat Egypt. Representing Sites International, Professor Laila ElMasry and Professor Maher Stino received the certificates of appreciation.
فازت حديقة الأزهر بالجائزة الأولي كأفضل الفراغات المفتوحة في مصر وذلك في المسابقة التي تضمنّها المنتدى الحضري العالمي الثاني عشر والذي عقد بالقاهرة ويُشرف على تنظيمه موئل الأمم المتحدة بالتعاون مع وزارة التنمية المحلية. تقدمت بمشروع حديقة الأزهر كل من شركة سايتس انترناشيونال ومؤسسة الأغاخان وقد حضر التكريم وتوزيع شهادات التقدير كل من محافظ القاهرة د. إبراهيم صابر وم. خالد صديق رئيس مجلس إدارة صندوق التنمية الحضرية وم. أحمد رزق مدير مكتب موئل الأمم المتحدة مع كل من م. سلمى يسري وم. سلمى نصار. واستلم الشهادات عن شركة سايتس انترناشيونال كل من ا.د. ليلى المصري وا.د. ماهر استينو.
